My Arnova 9 G2 tablet has stopped working. It’s frozen on the opening screen, and no attempts at reset or any combination of keys plus reset will make the thing work.
This is a common problem, I have now discovered from a Google search.
It’s going back to PC World on Sunday. I will demand a refund and may then buy the IPad I probably should have bought in the first place.
In the meantime, I have a student’s thesis on the thing, and we have the examination this afternoon. I hope I shall be able to remember all the notes I made.
Oh, the horror of it all….

Computers make good servants but bad masters.
You’ve heard of that “backup” thing, Sean? Now you know why ๐
You bought something from PC World??
Tony
I haven’t bought much from PC world, but the three things we did all failed within the warranty (thankfully.)
PCWorld isn’t that bad!
PC World is OK if they have what you want at an acceptable price – just don’t rely on any advice given by the sales staff. Sadly, employing knowledgeable people or actually training staff, is seen as far too expensive by PCW management!
PCWorld employs persons of great knowledge and beauty.
Being in London and having finished my student’s examination, I took my broken toy to PCWorld in Tottenham Court Road. The young lady who pounced on me gave me an instant refund, and then told me not to waste money on an iPad. Instead, she showed me a Disgo 9104. This was only ยฃ10 more than the Arnova 9 G2, and had twice as much space and a better version of Android. And it had a brushed metal back.
I am delighted with the replacement – and shall remain so until this in turn breaks down just when I need it.
I’m sorry sean I must disagree, as someone who has built my own PC and who knows roughly the market (online at least) prices on goods, I cringe at having to go in there (I also live next to one), I only go there if I have to for convinience on a weekend. I would recommend http://www.ebuyer.com, I have never found them at fault.
I build my own desktop computers. However, I find PCWorld very convenient and not grossly expensive.
I had a few problems with ebuyer recently and to be fair they used to be really good don’t know why they changed but their customer service so slow so i start using http://www.rossdigital.co.uk so far never had any issue with them yet touch wood. ๐
