While idly browsing the intellectual equivalent of which British foot-ballist has pulled and slept with which girly in which club, I chanced on this about Ted Turner, the famous “Liberal” (not. Only when it comes to himself: watch CNN for a few minutes and judge.) It appears he “has four girlfriends”. Well, I guess that’s OK if they don’t mind: I don’t think libertarians would want to prescribe any family-structural-norm to be followed perforce by everyone, for we’d let civilisations discover by custom and usage, that which suited them best….subject to the use of force inside such arrangements. I sort of wondered if he “had” them all at once in one bed (that would be interesting but perhaps more than two, or at most three, is mere greed, since I have not, in nearly 50 years, figured out or tried to model how more than three could pleasure an individual man simultaneously) or serially over a long period, or in some sort of rota.
It appears it’s the latter. I was merely interested in an academic capacity, as is natural.
So anyway, just to clarify before I digress more, what a libertarian government’s foreign policy would be towards free arrangements of families in which force is invloved…well…widow-burnings, arbitrary sexist/anti-gay-punishments and multiple-wife-beatings in “foreign and far-away-countries of which we might even know little at this stage of investigation”, would automatically be subject to scrutiny by the People’s Revolutionary-Liberalist Party’s minimal-statist-government’s War-Secretariat. This scrutiny would then be followed by those customs’ elimination by the War-Secretariat’s forces.
But what finally struck me as strange is that this Turner fellow has apparently “donated £1 billion to the United Nations. Now I don’t believe, as everyone on here by now must know, in some one-world-conspiracy to set up a “New World Order”, whatever that is. This terrible thing will arise accidentally if it does, out of the various efforts of GramscoFabiaNazis in mostly Anglospheric countries and not a few “European” ones to bring about “socialism in one country”.
Oh, and while I’m at it, and doing my usual boring thingy of annoying people who believes in this Bilderberg “conspiracy” rubbish, the “Bilderbergers” are, as I have been saying for years, just a bunch of rotating rich-guys who like to get together for a chin-wag, a pint , a good dinner and a few girlies, every so often. No different from the Bullingdon really: just richer and older. Most of them are younger than me now, like all policemen and most politicians.
But to give that UN-bunch of monkeying, ranting, gold-bed-and-mistress-and-tank-buying mountebanks, spivs, reivers and shysters $1 billion more than you absolutely needed to…..well, I’m not sure that old Ted is still accompanied by all his brain-power, which must at some stage in his life have been large. (Ask me what a reiver is, if you are unsure.) Perhaps the Victorians were right, and too much sex makes you blind, or rots the brain-cells, or something. I do not know.
