I have just arrived back home after a thousand mile drive from Slovakia. Once I’ve had a shower and some sleep, and have opened half a tree of post, normal service will resume.

How are the Czech and Slovak motorways these days?
In 1992 I remember being pulled over by a maroon Mondeo full of plain-clothes traffic cops, near Brno, for doing allegedly 105mph…. the fine was 500 Crowns. (Probably be more now…)
The motorways are in poor shape, though billions of EU cash has now been poured into them. Big surprise!
