Sean Gabb debates with Simon Hughes, about compulsory voting

I didn’t listen to it, but i can’t imagine that Sean was in favour of making ballots compulsory. The idea stinks.

  1. Rather than making voting compulsory there is a lot to be said for restricting the franchise. Here are three possibilities to consider: restricting it to British citizens, remove anyone who is longterm in receipt of benefits from the electoral roll and removing anyone working in an undesirable part of the public sector from the electoral rolls.

    Compulsory voting stinks. All many people would do is spoil their ballot papers.

    Anyway, why do they want us to vote anyway, as they just ignore our wishes once elected.
